Your child’s visit to the dentist should be enjoyable and memorable for the right reasons. We want to help you get your child into a good oral hygiene routine and into the habit of visiting the dentist.
Our office makes a special effort to use pleasant, non-frightening, simple words to describe each treatment. We want you and your child to feel at ease and in complete control from the moment you arrive at our office.
Periodontal disease is an infection of the gums surrounding your teeth and is one of the top reasons for tooth loss in adults, as patients may not know they have the disease. We use the latest techniques to prevent, diagnose, and treat periodontal disease (gum and bone disease).
During each regular checkup, we will check for signs of periodontal disease and offer options, such as non-surgical or laser treatments. Healthy gums are the foundation to oral health, so keeping them healthy is imperative.
For our younger patients it can be difficult to reach everywhere when brushing, especially in the tooth grooves. With sealants, brushing your teeth becomes easier and more effective against tooth decay.
Dental sealants are made of a plastic resin that bonds and hardens in the deep grooves on your tooth’s surface. This prevents decay from forming and keeps your mouth healthier.
Some teeth are extracted because they are severely decayed; others may have advanced periodontal disease, or have broken in a way that cannot be repaired. Whatever the reason, Dr. Bello will ensure you feel as little pain as possible and understand why an extraction is necessary.
Before the tooth is extracted the area will be treated and numbed. After the extraction, your dentist ensures the area is clean and healthy.
‘‘This office is wonderful from the moment we entered until we left. Really wonderful people, excellent professionalism, and patient-centered approach. Dr. Bello and her entire staff could not be more helpful, pleasant and thorough.’’

TMJ disorders are problems or symptoms of the chewing muscles and joints that connect your lower jaw to your skull. The effects of physical stress on the structures around the joint, teeth grinding, lack of sleep, or structural defects cause many TMJ-related symptoms.
Most TMJ disorders can be treated with stretching exercises, postural changes, short term use medications (acetaminophen, ibuprofen, muscle relaxants, or low-dose antidepressants), or use of a night guard.
Snoring can be a real problem, not only for the person who snores, but for the partner and other family members who live with the snorer. The Silent Nite® device is flexible, thin and comfortable.
The Silent Nite positions the lower jaw forward using special connectors that are attached to upper and lower trays. These trays are comprised of a soft inner layer with a hard outer layer that is durable and BPA-free.
Mouthguards help protect your teeth and gums from injury. If you participate in any kind of full-contact sport, the American Dental Association recommends that you wear a mouthguard.
A mouthguard should be tear-resistant, comfortable, well-fitted for your mouth, easy to keep clean, and not prevent you from breathing. Your expert in Seattle family dentistry will help you or your child find the best mouthguard.
